Marumo no OKite [ep 8]

Summary:
Both Kaoru and Tomoki were required to do a homework, describing their parent's job. So when Marumo was too distracted to tell them the info they needed, they went on a spy mission, trailing him to work and finally, the whole office knew about them. Even Kana-san, whom Marumo was dating. But Kana-san didn't mind and decided to go on dating him for now. However, the elated Marumo was short-lived. After spending some time with both the kids on a Sunday picnic, Kana-san realized she wasn't ready for this. She told Marumo that she wanted to build a family slowly.

In the end, she broke up with him, leaving a dejected Marumo. But at home, when the kids read both of their homework to him, he was touched by how they described him, even though he's not their real father.

WARM HUGGGG..........

It's a heart warming episode. I'm happy for Marumo that he finally realized that Kana-san wasn't the only woman out there. There's another living just under you! And she loves the kids! And the kids love her! haha I guess I'm biased. But I really hope they do pair up soon. Because it seems that Aya was a bit jealous whenever Marumo speaks about Kana xD

The last part, when the kids read their homework to Marumo was very touching. It surprises me how someone not related by blood can be this close and care for each other. Some funny scenes include the part where the kids follow Marumo to the company and them hiding in a box, moving when nobody's looking. That was fun to watch. In fact, the kids are fun to watch.

Marumo no Okite [ep 7]

Summary: Marumo only found out about the kids' birthday an incident at the park, when a neighbourhood police suspected him of kidnapping. So he promised to celebrate with them, with a huge cake and all. On the way home, he asked the kids what present do they want. But the kids kept the secret to themselves as they'd already promised their father. So Marumo was left wondering and trying to guess what to get them.

One day, the kids met a woman who had been following them for a while. Aoki Ayumi was actually their mother how left them when they were just 3 years old. She was suffering from parenting neurosis and filed a divorce. In order to prevent the kids from knowing the truth, their father lied that their mother had long passed away. But now, she came back to visit the children. She had no intention on getting custody of them though.

After spying around the house, Marumo finally guessed what kasha-kasha and puchi-puchi stand for. The presents were really something we couldn't have guessed. Puchi-puchi was actually the plastic to wrap fragile things where you can pop the air bubbles with. Kasha-kasha was wrapping paper! (if I didn't get it wrong) because I saw how Kaoru was selling stuffs and wrapping with the paper. Kids are just so innocent. They can be happy with such trivial things.
Their mother came and asked for a final favor from Marumo. She made a cake for them, a cake depicted in the picture book both kids read when they were little. She wondered if they've changed over the last 4 years. Ayumi told Marumo that she'd try not to see them again. Marumo then realized that the kids hadn't really changed and chased after Ayumi to tell her.

It was a touching episode. The return of their mother but they had no single idea of it. And the scene where they said goodbye to her for the final time, thinking she was Marumo's friend...sad...I do wonder though whether this is for the best. What if she actually wanted them back? After all, she's their mother and if she had decided to care for them, then the kids wouldn't be separated. But maybe she wasn't ready for the task. Marumo still seemed to be the best choice for the kids.

And they've gotten used to Mook's random comments. Even Marumo didn't seem to be affected by it anymore and joined in the chatter.

Marumo no Okite [ep 6]

The episode centered around the constant bullying Kaoru faced in school, by fellow classmate Hayato. Hayato's parents were always absent and only came home at night, leaving Hayato deprived of family love. Think that's why he was jealous whenever he saw how close both Tomoki and Kaoru were with Marumo, though they were not blood related.

Both of them got into chasing mode at school...and Hayato was injured. Marumo, without investigating or listening to Kaoru's side of story, insisted that she should just apologize to Hayato. Of course, Kaoru remained stubborn and didn't do so, which came across as childish/insolent to Marumo.
First time argument between Marumo and Kaoru.
That night when Marumo came back late, both kids were afraid that they've been abandoned. Thanks to Aya's phone call, Marumo found out what really made Kaoru mad and worried at the same time. Things quickly resolved between them.
The eraser stamps that Marumo made were cute!!!
Finally, Kaoru and Hayato made up, seriously, the stamp was a genius idea.

Marumo no Okite [ep 5]

Marumo was sick with mumps. Came as a shock to everyone since people usually get mumps when they're little. I can't remember getting mumps though, or measles. I know I did have chicken pox already during my primary school. xD Mook is adorable...
Onegaishimasu...
Marumo's mother came to visit and was surprised to find two kids living with her son. Afraid that the burden was too much for Marumo, she asked him to return the kids to the relatives. Marumo then suggested that she stay for few days, to help care for the kids.
Finally, Marumo's Chief came to visit too and the secret was out. Instead of transferring him, he supported his action and asked him to stay in the department.
who's the old pervert?
A little misunderstanding when Chief came to visit lolz...I think the practice of having alarms for elementary school kids is awesome, btw. Here, it's not practised but I think we should pick it up, lost kids keep on showing up in newspapers.
Tomoki hated carrots and in school, Kaoru helped him eat them all, so as to prevent him from being scolded. But thanks to Marumo's mother, he finally found that he can actually eat carrots. The trick, she mixed carrots in the hamburger meat and Tomoki downed them all, without realizing.

I wonder if it's possible for something to bloom between Aya and Marumo lol. Of course, till now, there's not a single sign that both had any affection for each other, but who knows xD
trying to speak to Mook
let's see how can stare longer
LOL...Aya went all the way and lied to Marumo's mother that she was dating him!
Usooo!!!~ (lol at Mook)
And then Makimura came (upon Marumo's request) she lied that she's Marumo's fiancee. omg...talk about coincidence! All these just to prevent having the kids being separated...awww...

One girlfriend and another fiancee....who's going to win? Such embarrassing moment for Aya!

Yay for Aya!
There's hope for romance to bud between them now xD I just feel that the kids would've preferred Aya too rather than Makimura.
This episode is fun!

Marumo no Okite [ep 4]

I know this is a rather late post, considering how it's episode 7 now. But I was pretty busy with other stuffs. So, the kids have started their elementary school and in this episode, each of the students in their class were given specific tasks.Tomoki (twin bro) couldn't get the task he wanted, ended up with a rather girly job (flower care) while Kaoru (twin sis) got the book care.

Back in Marumo's little house, everything was normal but from time to time they still got shocked by the sudden responses coming from the talking dog, Mook. Funny how Marumo actually consulted a psychological doctor to diagnose this, thinking he probably had a problem.
In class, the kids saw both the pictures that Tomoki and Kaoru drew which didn't include any of their parents, instead Marumo was there. The other kids couldn't understand that and began calling their family as 'weird'. They even teased Tomoki's magical spell, idea given my Marumo for the good health of the flowers.
One of the classmates complained how their teacher practised favoritism towards them just because they didn't have parents. Kaoru, as usual, the more defensive type of the twins, got into a fight with the classmate. As expected, the boy was injured instead of her lol...gotta love Kaoru. So protective and sensible.

Meanwhile, Marumo was selected as the representative to join one of their PR colleagues (who Marumo had a hopeless crush on) to apologize to one of the smaller companies in the province.

 Things worked out for them.
And just he imagined the night before, she really asked him out for dinner, as a treat for helping her.
Back home, it was raining heavily and Tomoki recalled Marumo saying how too much water will kill the flowers. I think he misinterpreted that and actually went out alone with an umbrella to cover the plant.
I can't get enough of these kids! They're so adorable! I like their interaction with each other, how protective they were and just...(I think I'll get the DVD soon xDD).
He's cute even when sick...Kaoru had no choice but to disturb Marumo and ask for his help. Initially hesitant since he finally had the chance to have a proper dinner with the one he likes, he came back after all and took Tomoki to a nearby clinic.

Mook is such a well trained dog! He even knows how to put his leg on their hands for a promise shake. xDDD Sugoiiii....

Marumo no Okite [1st episode]

Marumo tells the story of a pair of twins, losing their father to terminal cancer and how they face their new lives, being separated. One goes with their uncle, another goes to the aunt. They are fraternal twins, hence they don't have similar faces, actually more of different characteristics altogether. Which is interesting watch. They get acquainted with a fellow friend of their late father, who begin to care a lot for the two kids. And then one day, the boy finds a dog, a Schnauzer, I believe, who can talk. Hence, the cute relationship between them begins.

I think  this is gonna be one of the better dramas for this season. Though they don't have big names lining up on the casts, these kids make it worthwhile to watch.

The dog is so handsome!!! It's just a bit awkward and needs some time to get used to to watch it speaking though. That aside, it's so obedient and cute!

On the casts:
Abe Sadao - I've only watched 2 of his previous dramas, Iryu 1,2 & 3, as one of the prominent members of Team Dragon, and another drama ages ago. His character is lovable, he has his own perks. But to see his connection with the kids, very refreshing.

Ashida Mana - Just 6 years old and she's already the youngest actress to lead a drama. Her first drama that I watched was Mother, which I blogged about before. She was brilliant in there, very talented and she was barely 5 years old there! Here, she takes on a bigger role, and as the more mature twin, looking out for the much weaker twin brother.

Suzuki Fuku - First drama I watched of his. I'm not sure whether he did star in others before, but a great combination with Ashida. They both look great! His interaction with the Dog is sweet too xD
